Pavé rings have grown in popularity over the last few years, and rightly so. They’re the ultimate statement in brilliant glamor, taking your diamonds to the next level. DiamondsByMe has an extensive and exciting range of pave rings that we’d love to share with you.
Using our first-of-its-kind in the world service, we can create the pave ring of your dreams. Customize our existing designs or create one of your own. You can even browse and filter by setting type to see all our pave ring designs, and then customize by your favourite metals and stones. Following our online design process, we use ancient goldsmith techniques to drill the tiny holes required in the band, inserting each stone individually and securing them with prongs. We don’t keep any stock in our dedicated onsite studio, so each piece really is created just for you. All our pavé rings can be made in all colors gold; yellow gold, white gold, rose gold and platinum.
What is pave diamond?
The word ‘pave’ comes from the French word for ‘pavé’ meaning paved. It’s a reference to the way that the diamonds are laid side-by-side, in uniform rows with no gaps, just like paving stones. They have been in use since the 1700s, but became more widespread in the 1900s.
Sometimes pave diamonds are laid in a single row, as an enhancement to a ring’s shoulders, whereas other styles comprise a fully pave band, completely made up of the tiny stones. As these diamonds are much smaller than the larger, central settings so common with rings, they can provide an affordable alternative, while retaining that classic sparkling brilliance.
Whether used as added decoration or the focus of the design, the purpose of pave diamonds is to add even more reflective power to the piece. They increase the brilliance by adding more random directions off which light can bounce. Pavé ring settings create a continuous, brilliant look.
Pavé diamond ring
We love the pave diamond ring as an update to the traditional diamond ring. If your loved one likes the shine of diamonds, a pave setting is the perfect way to maximize the look. A design like the Alicia makes a bold statement, with a thick double band, double pave row and a chunky central square cut diamond. Whereas our delicate Elvire is an elegant take on the eternity ring with just a simple band in the metal of your choice, and a single row of tiny pave diamonds.
Pavé diamond settings don’t have to be in continuous rows, either, they can be worked into any pattern. Our gorgeous Leonora features a multi-layer pave diamond flower design on top of a split shoulder band. And our Initial ring range enhances the classic personalized design by detailing your loved one’s initial in pave diamonds. Whether you choose the subtle pave shoulders of the Margien range, or the opulence of the Daphne’s 3D flower, any piece’s brilliance can be enhanced as a pave diamond ring.
Pavé engagement rings
While this item of jewellery will always be one of the most special pieces you’ll ever give, whether with a halo or multi-stone setting, a pave engagement ring will always add an extra brilliance. Why not enhance your ring with a gorgeous pave setting from our collection?
Designs like the Valentina feature a pave band, with continuous stones, as well as a central square cut diamond and two side stones for a really opulent look. For a more subtle touch, go for something like the pave shoulders of the Marion or the Shonta RND. If you want to go really vintage and ornate, the Lavona includes a central stone, a wide, cut out band, engraving and two rows of pave diamonds. Whatever the perfect ring for your loved one, there’s something in our range for when you need to ask the ultimate question.
Micro pave engagement rings
Micro pave engagement rings feature even smaller diamonds for a subtle look but still with the added brilliance of pave. They work beautifully on something delicate like the Lynelle, with its thin, elegant band and single row of micro pave diamonds. Or perhaps the Emmy with gorgeous, tiny micro pave diamonds making up the sweet heart design, just for your sweetheart.
